Birthday cake

We went to Hark Music Cafe to celebrate Sotong's birthday today. It's another of those Chinese singing cafes similar to Muchuan. In fact, 2 of them, whom I suspect to be the bosses, were singers in Muchuan. Hark Music started as a music school teaching singing, keyboard and guitar. The music cafe is a recent addition, business must have been good. :)

We had planned on going Minds to play some board games. But they were full house, so we went to the Hark which is just below Minds. Since most of them are working in the same company, except Shadow, PS and me, they decided to meet at their company before going to Hark together. But I was tasked to go Plaza Singapura to go get Sotong's present and cake before meeting there at Minds. I reached Minds 1st, and I discovered that they are full. Was a bit embarrassing carrying the big soft toy and cake into Minds only to be told it's full. Oh well...

Those who went are Sharon, Shadow, TH, Dhanny, PS, me and of course Sotong herself. Those 2 in front are not Sotong. I asked them to sit at the back row, but they refused. Grr.

This looks better, but the last man looks so far away.

When we were about to start the birthday songs, we decided to make Sotong go up stage to sing a song. :P She finally agreed after much cajoling, she finally agreed. The original singer on the stage was quite helpful and helped her cover some of the higher notes that Sotong have difficulty with. I have a clip of the singing. If you know Sotong, you can email me to ask for a copy of the clip. I'll send it to you, subjected to the approval from Sotong herself.

Seems like they all liked Tigger a lot. Sharon first spotted the Piglet's soft toy at the Carrefore at Plaza Singapura and she loved it a lot, so she wanted to get that as a present for Sotong at first. Then she decided to ask Sotong which is her favorite Pooh Bear soft toy. She sent Sotong a picture of her with the Piglet and asked her if it's cute. Sotong tells her she prefers Tigger to Piglet, and hence we bought the Tigger.

After the cake cutting, we left Hark Music Cafe and went to Party World at Oriental Chinatown for a round of singing before going home at 3am...
