As mentioned in the last post, I was part of the advance party for this Australia trip, which means we are supposed to come 1st and take over all the relevant equipment first. This is what we have always done. What's different is that this time we have less people to do it due to flight constraint and the weather. This time, my platoon got about 1/2 the usual number of people to do what we have to do. And we have to do it either under the blazing sun or under never ending rain. It sure was difficult, but as what the CO said, we faced problems and we solve the problems. And we managed to get things reasonable done when the rest of the unit came.

10 years ago, when I was there, the canteen only sells beer and hotdog. There's much more variety now. And more beer to chose from as well.

The canteen operators are now ladies. About 4 of them. We called them, the short, the old, the fat, the tall. The 2 ladies are the old and the fat. They are seen more often than the others. They aren't really old and fat, jus that in comparison to the rest, 1 looked slightly older and the other looked slightly more rotund.

The canteen is our only source of entertainment in the camp. We spent many a nights there, drinking beer, watching dvd, eating hotdogs, chicken wings, etc.
