The date is 3rd December 2005. This day marks the marriage of Vincent and Petrina.

The church wedding is held at Faith Methodist Church at Commonwealth Ave. It's only a 10 minutes bus ride from my house. It is quite a nice church, the nicest I've been to. But then, I've not been to alot, so...

Anyway, I went to the church, and only Wenbin, Quek and CI were there. They were part of the gate crashing entourage in the morning and Artist is the bridal car driver.

Before long, the front door of the church opens and in marched the bride brought by her dad. You can see that Mr Kang is smiling so happily.

This is when they say "I do".

They wrote their own wedding vows. Vincent's is full of promises of love. Petrina's is more interesting with a few lines that rythmes and interesting anecdotes.

This is when everything becomes official.

They are now married. After this they'll walk back down the aisle and out of the church and the ceremony is completed.

And then, back into the church they comes and take photographs with the guest. As the ceremony starts at 4:30pm, there's no meal reception. After the wedding ceremony, those invited to the dinner will proceed straight to Stamford Ballroom at Raffles City. I took Wenbin's car with CI and 2 bridesmaid.

Confetti litters the table. And we are supposed to use them to design cards to give to the couple. Interesting.

I did not intend to take pictures of the dishes, but I thought this 1st dish looks interesting. It's a cold dish, which is quite common in chinese weddings. But I like this presentation. The round thing in the middle actually covers a candle. As there's a spotlight shining on our table, the luminous effect is not shown.

George came right before this 2nd march in. And I, being the nice guy, kept his food for him.

This ceremony supposed to signify something, but I forgot what it is. Probably mostly to pour the champagne for toasting later...

The toasting is abit different. Since it's a christian wedding dinner, the chief bridesmaid proposed that instead of the tradditional "Yam Sheng", she'll propose 3 well wishes / prayers for the couple to which we'll say "Amen". Well, we were quite co-operative, but after the 3 amen, pp still can't resists screaming the "Yam Sheng" for good measure. Wedding doesn't seem right without it. :P

In addition to the chocolates given by the hotel, which is quite yummy, we were given this thingy. I think it's for holding notes or pictures. Notice the heart shape thingy at the top? It contains the letter V and P. Nice right? We see this symbol thru out the wedding.

Oh ya, I forgot to mention about the food. The food is quite nice. Been here once before, for Crystal's wedding. Both times, I quite liked the food.

All in all, it's a nice wedding this is. Closest thing to a platoon gathering in a long time. The reservice that we go every year is supposed to be a gathering of sorts, but so many of us were posted out or downgraded. Only 5 of us left from the original gang of 11. It's good to meet up with Say and George after all these while.
