I just saw Jolin's MTV for 1 of her newer songs, 假装.

In it, she was sitting on the back row of the bus. Another guy, whom she don't know, was sitting beside her. The bus got so many other empty seats, but the guy is sitting beside her. Smart.

Then the guy started dozing off, and his head dropped onto her shoulder. Later it dropped further to her lap. Bliss. If only I can get away with that in Singapore.

The next scene jumps to somewhere in the future. Jolin is sitting on the same seat in the bus alone. The guy boarded the bus with another girl, his girlfriend. Then they started showing flashbacks of Jolin having fun with the guy in the bus. In case your mind runs wild, it's clean fun. Apparently, they became a couple after that guy slept on her lap. Wow! Not only is she pissed off with the guy and pushed him away, they become a couple. And he's not even really handsome. Makes me feel hopeful for my future. Haha!

Anyway, the rest of the MTV show how they had a quarrel and break up, and hence the guy board the bus with a different girl. When they alight, you can see Jolin crying, having regretted her wilful decision back then.

For a long time, I've been going to Muchuan to listen to Michael and Weiyang perform. But this year, the visits have been rare. I went there once at around CNY, and then once about 3 weeks back. Luckily I went there 2 weeks ago. A lot of things happen that day. Weiyang show off his new electric guitar. It supposedly cost a manager's 1 month salary. Then Michael annouce that it's to be his 2nd last performance of the year.

So I went again last week. For Michael's last performance of the year. A lot of mushy words there, you would have thought he has decided to retire from Muchuan. Why the long break you may ask. His wife is expecting, baby to be due in September. He decides that he wants to spend more time with her and thus the break. Sweet.

Anyway, Weiyang and Ah Seng will still be performing. They have someone replace Michael until he comes back. I did not get to see the guy perform, so can't comment on him yet. Anyway, I wish the best to the team an to Michael and his akan-datang new born!!

Imagine having a remote control that can control your life.

1. When your boss gives you a bad deal, pause it, gave him 2 punches, and then continue.
2. When your wife asks you what song is playing in the background during your first kiss 10 years ago, pause it, rewind to 10 yrs ago, listen to the music, come back to the present, gives her the answer and have hot sex afterwards.
3. You going to have a bad argument with your wife, fast forward it to after the argument

Etc, etc.

Sounds cool? That's what Michael Newman found when he tried to find a universal remote control for the various devices in his place.

Michael Newman is an hardworking and talented architect who has an ass of a boss. The problem with Michael is that he tend to put his work in front of his family. He'll cancel the camping trip they have been planning for months because his boss needs him on a project in the last minute.

When he got the remote, it really help him out a lot. He got extra brownie points with his wife for "remembering" the song playing in the background during their 1st kiss. While negotiating with Japanese, when they talk among themselves at a distance, he up their volume and change the language to English to eavesdrop on them and find out what they really want, thus winning him the big deal that put him in line for promotion.

And that's the turning point of his life. After announcing his promotion to his family, his boss told him that he's not getting the promotion until the deal is complete, which is at least 3 months away. As they had made plans to make use of his increase in salary, they have to be cancelled. He can't bear to face the disappointment of his family and fast forward his life to after his promotion. And it's actually 1 year away. During this 1 year, though he got his promotion, he neglected his family.

And worse, the remote control picks up on his use of it and auto forward when similar situation occurs. So when he's having sex with his wife, it's fast forward. When he's boss tells him he's in line for another promotion, it fast forward as well. And there's no override.

So he become a very successful man. But he missed seeing his dog died. Missed watching his children grow up, though they grew up to fine young people. His wife divorce him and remarry. He even missed the death of his father. When he tried to rewind to his funeral, he can't even do it because he was not there. When he goes back to the last time he saw his father, he didn't even look at him when his dad came to talk to him. He was, as usual, busy working.

One thing that he did not miss is his son's wedding. Unfortunately, he burst an artery then. When he woke up in intensive care, his son told him he's flying the next morning, not for his honeymoon. He postponed his honeymoon as an important deal came along and he has to oversee it.

Having seen his life wasted due to him putting his work ahead of his family, he can't bear to see his son follow his footstep. He rushes out to hospital to tell his son to put his family 1st in his dieing breath.

This is a meaningful story to tell us to treasure our family. Quite a nice story line, though his life is mostly ruined because he fast forward to his promotion, and the remote control goes auto. He realize his mistakes early, but he can't do anything but to watch his life gone to waste.

But this being a comedy, do not end in such a somber mood of course. The next scene is where he wakes up to find that it's all a dream. Sounds crappy right?

Moaningho is so afraid of us. 1st, he says that he feels Liverpool is not a threat to their premiership title, and nobody asked him about it. Then he say that some of his 1st team players are not fit for this Community Shield game, if Liverpool fails to beat a half strength Chelsea, they going to feel demaralized for the rest of the season.

Well, so is Liverpool half fit. We have Steven Gerrard, Xabi Alonso and Craig Bellamy on the bench. And we still beat them. After that, Moaningho starts saying Liverpool is diffcult to beat. And that when they play us, they can either win, lose or draw. *roll eyes* But that's only for 1 game. Over 10 months, they'll still beat us. Oh well. We shall see, I guess.

Fireworks at Esplanade

This is a lazy Saturday for me. Nothing to do. So I made my way to Esplanade to watch and take pictures of the NDP fireworks. I reached there at about 6pm. There is already quite a crowd there.


I walked quite a distant before finding a nice spot to sit down and take pictures. As you can see, the sky is still light.


It started to get dark after awhile.


And darker still.

Actually no. The 2nd and 3rd pictures are taken at about the same time, with different shuttle speed. But it's really a long long wait.


Finally the fireworks started.


The fireworks went on for quite awhile, but nowhere as long as the wait. I came at 6+pm. I wonder how much earlier all the rest came.

The worst part is going back after it ends. There is so much people, you can't move much. And there's no reception as well, so I can't make any calls out. The time it took me to get out of the place and managed to get reception for my phone is longer than the time that the fireworks is displayed.
