Recently, I received this email from Facebook.
I don't understand it at all. At 1st, I thought it's spam. I've received a number of spam emails in weird languages before. But the links in the email is to Facebook itself. And RaChel Phua is a Malaysian lady I requested to add to my friends list recently.
Then I look at my next email. Also from Facebook.
Pauline Hsieh is a Taiwanese lady I requested to add to my friends list recently.
This email I can read. And it is the exact format as the previous email. So I guess the previous email is to inform me that RaChel Phua has confirmed my friend request.
The next day, I receive this email from Facebook.
I don't remember requesting to be friend with any WK Tan in Facebook. So what is this message talking about?
I got the answer later when I logged in to Facebook and see a friend request from this WK Tan.
I would say Facebook is doing something wrong here. First, not everybody in Malaysia uses Malay as their main communication language. Some of them could be using Tamil or Mandarin or English. Second, why do they use the language of the sender? Shouldn't they use the language of the receiver? Why send me an email in a language I may not understand? Duh.
