This is it. Off I go to Australia. No internet and no blogging for 3 weeks. This blog will see inactivity for 3 weeks until I am back. There's no 1 to blog on my behalf.

Everyone take care and pls come back. :)

Think this is the first time I blog about the weekly Sunday soccer session. But we played every Sunday in Serangoon, at teh field next to blk 217. Well, almost every Sunday...

I gonna fly to Australia for ICT later. So I won't be playing for the next 3 weeks. So it's good that I scored a hat trick today. Pretty fluke though.

There's about 8 of us at 1st. It later grew to 12. The 1st 2 goals are scored when we have only 8 of us. So we are not playing a very long field. My The 1st goal is a deflection. The 2nd, I got the ball at abt the middle of the field. I know the last man is out of position, so I took a shot fr there. They got another player near to the goal, he runs the ball and attempts to clear it. Somehow the ball slipped under his feet and got in.

Later there's more pp coming and it's getting pretty crowded. I had a few shots that missed. Barely. If only the goal is 10% bigger. :P

We wree interupted by the rain halfway, but it become light enuff that we played again abt 10 minutes later. When the rain becomes heavier again, we decided to ignore it and play on.

As the game go on, the score grew to 9-9, and we decide that we stop at the next goal. I was pretty fired up to get that last goal to complete my hat trick. But I am not selfish at all. I managed to pass to a open player a number of times, but he somehow missed. But it went well in the end when I really score the goal later. :)

Anyway, there are 19 goals and there are 12 of us. And I am playing up most of the time. So 3 goals is nothing much. But I still feel good. :)

I went to Johor Bahru with Sharon, Thierry, Sotong and Elaine this morning. We were supposed to meet at 10am at Kranji MRT station. I am early and reached there at about 9:45am. I was hopping that Thierry will be 30 min early again like the last time, but alas, he arrived right on time. Sotong arrived 5 minutes before him, and Sharon came 5 minutes after him.

Elaine reached Bukit Batok MRT at about the same time as Sharon reached Kranji. We wanted to wait for Elaine, but she said she can clear the customs faster than us, so we went ahead without her.

This time, the queue is pretty short and we cleared the customs in a very short time. We walk around in City Square until Elaine reached and we took 2 cabs to Pelangi Leisure Mall. It's pretty dead there, but they are showing 2 of the movies we wanna watch. We bought the tics and went McDonald's for lunch.

Warning: Spoilers for The Mtyh
The Myth
The first movie we gonna watch is The Myth, at 1245pm. I read in a few blogs that it is not nice, abut after watching, I thought it's not bad. Nice moves by Jackie again, though I thought he's distracted by the love story part of the movie. The storyline is not bad. Kim Hee Soon is so gorgeous, but Mallika's character is abit of a vase.

The story is about archeologist Jackie who keeps dreaming abt himself as a Qin dynasty general who saves a Korean princess. It become so bad that his gf breaks up with him cos he keeps murmuring the princess's name in his sleep. His scientist fren get him to help out in a project where they gotta look for some Indian artifact. Along the way, he learns more abt his dreams. Kim's character, the Korean Princess is betrothed to Emperor Qin in a political marriage. Jackie's previos life, the great general Meng, is tasked to escort her to escort protect her back to the palace. They were ambushed and Jackie nearly died trying to protect her. Thus love blossoms between them. Unfortunately, Meng's loyalty to his emperor resulted in Kim marrying the emperor instead. One day, Emperor Qin is dieing, but he got someone make him an elixir pill and Jackie is again tasked to bring it back to the palace. Meng died in the mission, but his subordinate managed to bring the elixirs back. Politics in the palace results in the emperor dieing anyway. So what happens to Jackie and his dreams in the end? I thought the ending abit cheesy, but overall the movie is not bad.

Warning: Spoilers for Wait Till You Are Older
Wait Till You Are Older
The 2nd movie that we watched is Wait Till You Are Older. There's still some time after we came out of the The Myth cinema till Wait Till You Are Older starts. We went for a round of arcade games.

This movie is very nice. And very touching. It's a must see!

It's about this little boy who blames his dad and his stepmother for causing his mom's death. He is rude and causes all kinds of trouble for his parents. He runs away from home frequently and his dad gotta bribe him to come gome everytime.

One day, he finds himself becoming a grown man. He's overjoyed. He went home pack his stuff, mess up the whole place and leave.

He gets to enjoy the freedom for 2 days, but he finds himself growing older at an accelerated rate. His adventures as an adult causes him to realise how much his parents actually loves him, and how wrong he had been. He regretted his actions, but he has not much time left. The accelerated aging is irreversible.

Try to catch this if you can. :)

We went to Holiday Plaza for a short shopping session than head out to somewhere nearby for dinner. And then it's home to type this blog. :P

Virtual Insanity, the cool event of the year.

Got anything planned on Halloween? Got anything planned on 30th October 2005? Why not head down to party of the coolest pp around? Go to the Virtual Insanity, organised by the barflies of Cowboy Bar. You will not regret it.

I took part in this contest some time back. The prize is supposed to be like this.

3 of us got the answers correctly, and they decide to change the prize to a movie outing for all 4 gers and the 3 winners, who happens to be all guys. But they couldn't find a movie all wanted to watch at that time. In the end, they settled on Corpse Bride which will start screening only few weeks later, which is about last week.

So we arranged to watch it today. But alas, cannot find a time for everybody, so they cancelled it and change it to presents for everyone instead. I am ok with that. But I suggested that those who can make it go ahead with the movie, as a normal outing. In the end, it's Natsu, Frenie, Ah 9(non winner and non s4) and me.

The show is at 7pm. Frenie went to buy the tic at 5 pm. I reach the place at abt 6pm and Ah 9 reach at 6:40pm. All 3 of us are wearing red, though different shades of red. I actually did not realise until we go and meet Natsu and she say she's the odd 1 out wearing black.

I read from some pp that it's not nice. But I thought it's not bad. My complain is tat I thought it shld be a dark cartoon, but it's too lively liao. Got alotta songs somemore. Will prefer it to be darker...

After the movie, it's dinner and then Frenie and Ah 9 got their activity while me and Natsu go home.

Woke up very early this morning to go camp send kit bag. Flying to Australia for reservist on sunday evening. Had tim sum breakfast in Changi Village after that. And then it's to Funan Center to meet Ecq pp for lunch. After lunch, I went to Ecq to pack up the rest of my stuff and bring home. What a busy morning.

Met CJL, Xiao Mei, Freedom and 3 for dinner at pizza hut in Lucky Plaza. Have not seen Freedom for some time. Xiao Mei and 3 are such SYT. CJL is such a nice guy to pay for our dinner. :P

After dinner, it's to Wala Wala with Xiao Mei, Freedom and CJL. 3 said she's tired and wanna go home. Freedom volunteered to pay for the cab. End up it cost $4.70. About the same price if we were to take bus. And it's faster. We barely made it for the 1 for 1. Phew.

It's been 1 month since I last go listen to the The Unxpected. Boy, do I miss them. They were simply fantastic. It's Xiao Mei's, CSJ's and Freedom 1st time to Wala Wala and 1st time that they heard the Unxpected. Looking at how CSJ is engrossed in their performance, and listening to what Xiao Mei and Freedom say, they love them as well. :) CSL even say he wanna go Wala Wala every Thursday.

On a sadder note. I saw the barflies there too. But did not talk to them at all as we are seated a distance away from them. I feel myself drifting away from them. Sigh.

After the end of the 2nd set, which is close to 12mn, Xiao Mei wanted to go as she gotta wake up at 6 the next day. So CSJ left with her. I managed to persuade Freedom to stay for the 3rd set. :P

We leave Wala Wala at abt 1am.

All in all, it's a pretty nice day cos of the 2nd half. :P

In the morning, while sending in kit bag, I forgot to pack in jack knife, shaver and nail clipper. Don't look like I can bring the jack knife in my hand luggauge. :( Let's hope shaver and nail clippers are ok...

A fren jus told me this.

This lady, wanted to buy a pc for a children. So she asked a female colleague's bf to help assemble 1. They settled on the configuration and a price of $1500. The guy bought the parts, assembled and installed the software that she wants, everything nicely done then deliver to her. She paid $1000 1st and promised to pay the rest later.

1 mth later, she say that $1500 is too ex a pc for children and refused to pay the $500. She even suggests that he take out $300 worth of stuff and she'll pay the $200.

What kind of idiotic attitude is this? You agreed on the price and you pay up lar. It's unlikely that the guy makes anything from the $1500, but even if he did, you agreed to the price, you should pay what. If I were the guy, I would return her all the money and take back the pc. Maybe I'll just return $800 cos she used it 1 mth.

Anyway, the guy is in a losing position. The pc is in her house. They have no written agreement. He cannot jus go her house and take back the pc. There's nothing much he can do other than to take the $500 loss.

$500 to let the gf knows what kind of colleague she is working with...

Mecsb is the server that a school uses. A fren of mine who worked in some school is the 1 who visited this blog via Mecsb. She dun even noe it's her. Haha!

wonder what is Mecsb.

This is interesting.

I am curently at the top of the search engine if you searchh by Starhub handphone plan in Yahoo. And I was top when you search for M1 handphone plan a few months back.

A hell of good it will do to me. I am not selling handphones or handphone plans...

Got this from Nadnut. Me only 40% boyish leh. Buay zun 1. Shld be 50%. :P
But the description is quite apt. i think...

Anyway, there's only 10 qn leh. And each qn onli 2 choices for answer. Doubt it's accuracy. :P

You Are 40% Boyish and 60% Girlish

You are pretty evenly split down the middle - a total eunuch.
Okay, kidding about the eunuch part. But you do get along with both sexes.
You reject traditional gender roles. However, you don't actively fight them.
You're just you. You don't try to be what people expect you to be.

I am curious, what is Mecsb? I've a got regular visitor from this place, a company name I assume. If you are a fren, can you drop me a message? Nothing much, jus curiosity onli.

I was chatting wtih a fren in msn about my earlier post . She's not the 1 I talked about in that post. Nor is she the 1 in this post.

Anyway, she told me she was in a similar position with her 1st bf. Wherever she is, whatever she is doing, be it spending time wif parents or shopping with frens, when the bf calls, she has to go to him immediately.

What's it with guys who likes to have their gf at their whims and calls? I supposed there are woman who are like that too. The world is full of idiots.

Since I started talking about power play between couples, I remembered another similar incident few yrs back.

I was at a fren's place celebrating her birthday. 1 of the gers there, her bf was not invited so he's home. at abt 3am, he sms her and tell her he's feeling sad or something like that and ask her go accompany her. So at 3am, she left us, go take cab from tanjong pagar to jurong west. A couple weeks later, this same group of us were going bugis to watcha movie that the bf dun like to see. He tried to make us change movie but none of us wanted to watch the movie he wanted to watch, so he stay home. He made her accompany him at his house until jus b4 the movie starts, which is abt 8pm, and she took a cab down to join us. She did not even have any dinner.

I dun understand the reasons behind these actions. Why would you wanna trouble your gf like that? I thought a guy supposed to take care of and be nice to his woman, be it gf or wife? My conclusion is that he wanna send a message to the gf, "you have to do things my way".

I was having dinner with a female fren jus now. We were good friends and we always meet for dinner and to go Muchuan, but we have no romantic interest in each other. I guess we were both placed quite low on our ladders. :P

Anyway, she has a boyfren. She told me she asked him abt dinner and he did not reply her and hence she met me for dinner at an Indonesian restaurant at Riverside Point. The food is quite nice but the bill came up to be much higher than we thought.

As our dinner is about to end, the bf messaged her and tell her to go to Clark Quay MRT station control to meet him to go somewhere. and that he's not coming out. This great. Last minute decide to meet pp, just message and demand to meet. Don't even have to ask, and expect her to finish the dinner fast and go meet him. How much more does it cost to leave the station, come to the restaurant fetch her and go take another train??

On the way home, I was thinking about this and decide to let the imagination runs wild abit. Could it be he's trying to show me that the ger is his gf? Can it be a show of power? Purposely last minute call her meet him while in the middle of a meal to show the control he has over her. If it is, then he's wasted his efforts and jus pissed her off. Bo hua. :P

Anyway, whatever it is, it's their 2 problem. I had a nice dinner, though i thought it's too expensive.

Met up with a group of friends last night. We went to this place at the 5th floor of Orchard Cineleisure for some drinks. Chio Diver was late. As usual. :P

"I can't believe it. I did something really really stupid just now!" was the first thing she said when she came.

"What? You said goodbye to your boss before you leave?", Cat asked.

"Not this. Another one:.

Anyway, Chio Diver worked in the Far East Square there. As she was walking to the mrt, she heard someone called out to her. She thought she droped something, so she turned back. Some China guy (I forgot to ask her is it a guy or a gal) up to her and told her that he got nowhere to stay and got not enough money to book a hotel room. She opened her wallet and see onli a $2 note and a $50 note. She started to take out the $2 to give to the guy, but he said that it's not enough. So she gave him the $50! Gasps. $50 to a stranger!

She can't believe she did it. Normally, she would have just igored the fella and go. And she is in a hurry cos she's late. She duno what came over her. It's pretty obvious that the guy is try to cheat her money and she gave him $50. An insurance agent tried to talk to her outside Sommerset MRT, but she refused. Someone who's trying to earn a honest living, and she won't talk to him, yet she gave $50 to a cheat. Oh well, strange things happens.

Cat said that the guy may have hypnotised her. She said her dad had saw such pp around before. You can't help doing what they tells you to. It could be true, so you people who happens to work in Far East Square area, please be wary of such things happening. It will be harder to hypnotise you if you put up a mental defense against it. In fact, please be careful wherever you are. You won't know where you'll meet such pp.

Better be safe.

My mum was trying to clear some rubbish when she found this.

Worked there part time more than 10 years ago. Time flies.

There's some numbers at the back. I've forgotten what it's for though.

SW was back in SG last week. And we arranged to have dinner with Ah Huay as we had not met up for a long time. Wanted to ask Bern along but he's busy. We went to the famous Holland V XO Fish Head Bee Hoon. I lived near Holland Road and it's pretty convenient for me to go there, so it's not my first time to eat there.

I liked the Bee Hoon Fish Soup. The XO makes it very fragrant. But sometimes they put too much of it such that it covers all other tastes, then it will be bad. I also like the San Lao and the Prawn Paste Chicken, aka Har Chiong Gai. Hong Kong St Zhen Ji still has the best San Lao, but the Holland V XO's is also not bad.

SW was late and I met up with Ah Huay first. SW sms me and tell me to order 1st, so I ordered San Lao for 2 person, XO Been Hoon Fish Soup for 2 person, 1 small plate of Har Chiong Gai, which isn't really small, 1 small plate of veggie and 1 small plate of Furong egg. The furong egg never came, think they missed out on the order, which is a good thing as SW arrived and say he has eaten. That idiot...

Har Chiong Gai
The first dish that comes is the Har Chiong Gai. I am pretty disappointed in it. Looking at the pic, you can see that it's charred, chao ta.

Har Chiong Gai
That is still ok, but it's also not fully cooked. And there's not much taste of the prawn paste either. Lousy...

The veggie came next. it's not bad at first. But it's arranged in 2 stacks, top and bottom, and when we eat to the bottom stack, where the sauce is thicker, it becomes too sweet.

The XO Bee Hoon Fish Soup is nice. This time it's just the right amount of XO. Yummy. The San Lao comes wtih alotta bean sprouts, aka tao gey, which I like. :)

This time I did not see much of the rude auntie, which is good. Can't stand her attitude. Eat there like owe her money like that. Even the boss attitude got improve. I wonder if she's the mum or what...

Got this from Ping

Synthetic Transforming Unit Programmed for Immediate Destruction General Electronic Neohuman Intended for Ultimate Sabotage

Gotten this off Challenge Phoenix.

You are Batman!
Congratulations! You scored a super 74%!

Cool, calm and powerful. Whilst your actual super abilities may not be anything too dazzling, you have earnt the respect of both friends and enemies in response to your amazing fighting skills, strategic combat and experience.

Luckily you have access to the greens which can fund all your majorly cool gadgets, vehicles and weapons! Also, you're reluctant but still accepting to the idea of having a teammate/side-kick, which just makes everything a whole lotta fun, doesn't it now! On the down side, you've probably suffered some sort of trauma at a young age (that's why we don't talk to the old man near the swings, kids).

Similar to the Wolverine, your past is a base for your current motivation, undertaking some kind of personal vow in search of justice.

All in all though, you're one tough nut. There's not a lot of people who have the minerals to go up against you, and you're experienced enough not to get cocky and let the little things like never finding happiness get you down!

Continued from Phuket Sept 2005 Day 2

The 3rd day starts with the same breakfast as Continued from Day 2. After that we took the car out for 1 last spin. We are supposed to return the car by 11:20am.

We headed for another each area, I forget the name, but I think it starts with K. It is quite beautiful. Patong beaches are too commercialized. We did not spend much time there, just some photo taking.

PS stranded on some island? :P

No fishes there...

Relaxed in the middle of nowhere...

I thought the background is quite nice.

The way back is driven by another one of us with no license, Sharon. Sotong was saying she's driven by 4 different drivers in this trip, 2 of them without license, 1 had only driven once since getting the license few years back, and the other 1 has not driven cars this size b4. Scary.

We got back to the apartment at 11:15am. The receptionist told us the guy who collects the car has left as we were supposed to return at 11am. Apparently, Thierry made a mistake on the return time. On the rent slip, it say rented at 11:20am, return at 11am, though the rent is for 24 hrs. Overdue of everyhour is 100 baht. Luckily we were not charged for that.

We changed into beach attire and went to the beach after that. Thierry wanted to try para sailing and jet skiing. The above pic is another paranomic picture ofthe stretch of beach we were at taken by my Ericsson T750. notice that the beach looks curved? it's actually straight. It's the side effect of taking paranoma picture while standing still. :P

Putting the harness on Thierry.

Ready, get set....

Go!!
You can see the guide is on top on Thierry now...

Landing now. The guide is now behind Thierry. Their job looks precarious. While the guest is all harnessed, the guide got nothing except his 2 hands and 2 legs. Hard money to earn there.

After seeing Thierry took to the skies, Sharon wanted a go herself.

Wheeeeee!!
She landed inthe water, I wonder if they do it on purpose. Haha!

She said she had a good time and it's not as scary as it look, but Sotong still dun dare to try.

PS, Sotong and Sharon tryst at the beach...

While Thierry goes jet skiing.

Sotong's turn to jet ski after Thierry.

With Sotong gone, PS, Thierry and Sharon had their romantic romp in the water. :P

Help! I am drowning!! Nah. The waves are fun, but it's not big enough though.

And Sotong is back.

PS masquerading with little success as a mermaid.

Thierry thought it's a monster.

I just want to fondle the boobs. :P

Leaving our footprint and handprints on the Phuket beach. I don't think it gonna stay long...

Sharon and Sotong posing for the camera while Thierry and me were busy washing the sand away from our shorts.

1 last pic before going back.

The lunch place. If you can call it lunch. It's 4pm. The food nothing great either. In fact, in the 3 days that we were there, none of the food is any great.

Saw this signboard on the way back to the apartment. list of islands that you can go in Thailand. I wish to point your attention to the only 4-chinese-character-island. Funny name for an island...

Last picture of the trip. Taken on the plane just before it lands. This is 1 of the rare pics where everyone is present. :)

The end.

Continued from Phuket Sept 2005 Day 1

The 2nd day starts with breakfast. We are provided with a 4 man breakfast. 1 more set cost 500 baht, which we luckily refused. There's so much and we have some light eaters here. There's more than enough food for us.

This is our rented car. We decided to explore the neighbouring towns as well.

PS the 1st driver checking out the car.

We went to Phuket town for the day. Alongthe way, we stopped at this big big nice shopping center, Central, for lunch and abit of shopping. It's the only nice shopping center in Phuket I think.

I discovered there's a paranoma function in my camera. So I took a pic of the shopping center.

P1040233
Our lunch.

This i s my lunch. At this jap restaurant called Oishi. There's quite a few of them in Thailand.

Phuket town is 1 dead town on a Sunday. I wonder how is it on the other days, but it's so boring. We stopped our car at this street.

The 2nd pic looks like it's around a corner, but it's actually a straight stretch of shophouses.

We saw a prata shop there as well.

We saw a temple nearby and checked it out. Nothing much interesting.

This Phuket shopping center. It's so so so boring.

On the way back, we passed by a nite market and we stopped for a look. It's so much better than the boring Phuket town. But I forgot to take pics. There's so many pp there., and I was busy looking around. We tried out some snacks there as well. And it's back to Patong.

We were driving along Patong beach when I see this. Thought it looks interesting. The pic is abit blurry cos my hand shaked abit while taking it. When I try to position for a better shot, an ang moh lady went to play on it. Oh well, gotta settle with this.

This is the dinner place. Sharon and PS were full from snacking, so that left Thierry, Sotong and me to eat. The food there is also only average. And it rained when we were finishing with the food, and it's an open air place. The waiters moved our food to a table indoor and we continue from there. I bought a packet of the Thai dessert, i don't know it's name, but it's mango with sweet glutinous rice. I planned to eat it after dinner but we got so full that we decide to just bring it back and put it in the fridge and eat the next day.

After dinner we went back to the apartment to wash up. And watch some tv. Then we decided to go out again. Sharon and PS wanted to do have some Thai massage. I was hopping to drive the car while they are in the massage parlour so that there's less pp in the car. I do not have a driving license in SG, but I have taken the test 4 times, and each time, I failed only cos I was too nervous. I feel condfident enough in handling the car. I may not have very gd skills, but I think my skills iwll be similar to those who just passed their tests. But they can't find any massage parlour opened at that time, so I drove with 4 passengers in the car. I wanted to drive 1 round and back to the apartment, but they told me to just drive on. We end up in this long winding dark road. It's prob a combination of the knowledge that I do not have a driving license, the road is dark and winding, I am driving at 60-80 kmph, they were making alot of complains about me going too fast. I can understand their concerns, but I feel I was pretty much in control thoughout the drive and they were getting on my nerves and it's affecting my concentration abit. Anyway, I managed to bring them back to the hotel in 1 piece, and they refused to let me drive the car again.

And that is the end of day 2.
